Summary of the invention ln the niethod and annaratus according to the invention, a solution for completeevaporation and rnixing of the liquid fuel with air is provided, which results in a cleanhornogeneous combustion of the fuei at iower temperatures and conditions that resuit iniower emissions and complete comloustion of the fuel, including elimination of carbon rnonoxide through the perfect niixing of air and fuel during the cornbustion process. Qescriptioit of the invention in one embodiinent the comhustion reactor (1) [Figure li comprises a pluralšty, suitablethree reaction :ones (A, B and C), in which A is the iniection zone (wiiere rnixing andevaporation takes piece), where the fuel is ínjected into the combustion chamber, mixedwith air while undergoing gas phase evaporation. Zone A is separated from zone B by a flowconstriction plate (3) designed for recirculation of hot cornbustion products into theinjection zone A. Claims (3) [1] 1. Claims: What is claimed is: 1. A combustion apparatus for providing a homogeneous combustion of liquid fuels, 6comprising a combustion chamber (1) having a plurality of reaction zones (A, B, C), one of which is an injection (mixing and evaporation) zone (A), characterized by 1. a swirler (2) for mixing fuel and air configured to operate at a swirl number between 0.6-2.5 in combination with a flow constriction plate (3) where the 70size of the constriction is such that the ratio of the open diameter (de) of the constriction to the combustor diameter (d) is <0.7 and the constrictor plate (3) is placed at a distance 11 from the base of the swirler plate (4) so that L1/de > 1 2. a primary mixing device (7) is placed downstream from the constriction plate 7(3) at a distance (L2) from the constriction plate (3) so that the ratio L2/L1<1 to allow for maximum mixing of the homogeneous combustion process. [2] 2. The combustion apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the fuel is any of diesel and gasoline. [3] 3. The combustion apparatus according to claim 1, comprising a secondary mixing plate, 80to reduce the total length of the reactor through increased homogenization and/or with a catalyst to operate the process under partial or complete catalytic conditions 4. The combustion apparatus according to claim 1, configured such that in operation the fuel pressure is at an elevated pressure of 3-20 bars to optimize the evaporation in the injection zone 85. The combustion apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the constrictor plate (3) is provided with a convex cone (9), to improve the recirculation of the combustion products into the injection zone (A).
